looking up

Her is a shot of looking up. Didn't think I would ever see that ...

Things might just be looking up in the bathroom remodel department. I finally got around to getting started on the drywalling. This is actually my first go around with installing drywall (in some places it shows). Probably not a good idea for the first ever drywall that I hang be a cieling but hey some times you have to jump in head first. I'm sure by the end of this house I will be pro at cielings and walls. HA! Any way I had a trusty helper with me during the cieling install as you can see in the pics. Since I am doing this install on my own there is no way I was going to attempt the cieling with out the lift, it made the job very easy (except for all the holes for lights fans etc).

Well the cieling is in place and I finally got all the screws in as well.. every 6 inches thats alot!

plumbing / insulation

Since I'm a PEX expert now I figured I would fix the splice that the plumber left. Oh yea I installed some insulation as well.

I started by finishing the insulation on the cieling. I did not use recommended cieling insulation (R-19) as the large ammount of wires and venting ducts that I have to deal with in this room. I used my standard R-13 that I used on the walls. I will pad the area outside the kneewall with thicker unfaced batts later as I get time.

As I mentioned before I also spent some time re-doing a connection the plumber spliced. He punctured the PEX during their test so he had to fix it with a 1/2in to 1/2in coupler. I eliminated the coupler so there is a solid piece of PEX from the manifold to the copper ell. Man did I mention that I love this PEX stuff. :-)

So the insulation i s done and the plumbing in the walls is finished... must be time to drywall.
